So, how’s the New Year hitting you so far? Hopefully, all is well with you. As for me, I’m thankful that Jesus year’s are without end, and that He remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. Have we failed to live up to our new year’s expectations? He hasn’t. Have I looked down on others whose lives seem to remain unchanged and stagnant? He doesn’t. Am I condemning myself (already, in mid-January) because I’m still the same old Jay, struggling with the same old weaknesses of last year? He hasn’t, doesn’t, and won’t condemn me, for the passing of time means nothing to Him – His love, grace, acceptance, and mercy forever remain full, unchanged, fresh, and bountiful. I’m really glad a new year is here, and I appreciate the chance to revisit and restart areas of my life that need to change. BUT, I’m even gladder He hasn’t changed towards me.
